1️⃣ Once you make a decision that feels right, stand tall behind it.
This year I made many bold decisions that scared the crap out of me. Setting firm boundaries that I was afraid to set for so long, getting married abroad without loved ones and telling them things I thought I could never say before is just some of them.
These decisions were all requiring me to stop performing, being the good girl, following the ‘rules’, pleasing others and putting other’s needs above my wellbeing. All of this came with many thoughts: Did I do the right thing? What if I hurt them? What if they don’t love me anymore? What if they leave me and I lose them forever? These ruminating thoughts don’t serve us, worse yet, they consume the energy we could be using for something better.
Own your decisions and stand behind them 100% once you make them. If people leave because you were yourself or you put your wellbeing first? Let them go. Maybe they’re not meant to stay.
2️⃣ Rest is medicine.
Everything feels lighter, better, and easier to navigate when we feel rested, doesn’t it? I was on the road and in the sky more than ever before this year (visited 8 different countries and managed to keep my brain and business alive, woop woop 🏆) and I’m absolutely positive, I’d have a burn out if I wasn’t very intentional about my rest.
I explored rest in many ways - breaks and breathing pauses multiple times a day, rest in nature, with my partner, family, friends. Filling my cup is what kept me going, especially during hardship. Let's take rest without guilt with us into next year and beyond!
3️⃣ The truth of who you are can never be taken away from you. Stay curious.
The older (and wiser 😀) I get, the more I realise the importance of getting to know yourself so deeply and becoming so damn aware of how capable, worthy, and inherently loved you are (you know you are, right? ❤️)
Unlearning, reframing, learning again and taking care of yourself is a process. Coming home again and again is the reward. Stay curious.
And stay kind. To yourself and others.
